Who is Melissa Martin?

Career coach/specialist, I have over 12 years’ experience in career coaching. counselling and empowering job seekers from all life: military members, military spouses, the unemployed and the underemployed. Since 1998, she has assisted 1000’s of clients with job searching, interview coaching and results-oriented resumes in English and in French.

My approach to serving clients is solution-focused. I endorse sales and marketing methods designed to position job seekers  strategically with employers.

I have presented at international career conferences in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, and most recently, at the cannexus.ca  conference in April 2009. (By popular demand, she will be presenting at the cannexus conference in January 2010 in Ottawa, Canada).

In 2001, I  became a certified SurvivAbility (R) leader:  the skills, attitude and learning  needed to survive and thrive (www.survivability.net)

My education: a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and following my 10 year radio career, I obtained a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. In 2003, I became certified in solution-focused interviewing and counselling from the University of Toronto, Department of Social Work. I  also hold a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language certificate) from the University of Ottawa.
